Open the Photos app on your iPhone. You can also transfer files between iPhone and other devices by using AirDrop and sending email attachments. You can use AirDrop to instantly share photos with anyone nearby who has a Mac iPhone or iPad.

Transfer files between iPhone and your computer. Launch Photos on your iPhone or iPad. On your Mac youll see a pop-up window asking you to accept the photos.

Select the pics you want to transfer. If you share a photo from the Photos app you can swipe left or right and select multiple photos. AirDrop is a handy feature that allows Apple users to share photos videos documents and other files across devices.

Choose one photo tap Share button and then tap the Mac with right name that you want to transfer to. Or Control-click the file in the Finder then choose Share from the shortcut menu. Open Photos on your iPhone.

On your Mac you can also use the AirDrop window. You can use iCloud Drive to keep your files up to date and accessible on all your devices including Windows PCs. Wait till AirDrop finds your Mac and tap on it.

2 Open your iPhones Photos. Open AirDrop using Finder and drop an item onto the device you want to send it to in the window. AirDrop is fast power-efficient and secure.

Now heres how you transfer photos from your iPhone to your Mac with AirDrop. But if I try to send live photos via AirDrop from my iPhone 7 I have no way of importing them directly into Photo app and all I get is JPGs in download folder. On the pop-up that appears click on your iPhone.

You can also choose to transfer photos from Mac to iPhone with AirDrop by using context menu or share sheet. The interesting thing is that if someone send me Live Photos via AirDrop he is using iPhone 6 my laptop running High Sierra would give me the option to import via Photos app. To do so open the Finder click AirDrop on the left side of the Finder window click the Allow me to be discovered by link and click Everyone in the resulting drop-down menu. Tap the sharing button in the bottom left-hand corner.

Next select the Device Your Mac to which you want to transfer Photos.
